COACHES, REFEREES, AND SPECTATOR INFORMATION

Volunteer Coaches: All coaches are volunteering their time to make this a great
experience. We try and select coaches who are knowledgeable in the skills we are trying to
teach, but also aid and assist those who are not, the entire season through. If you are
interested in being a coach or have a concern about a coach, please notify the Program
Specialist. (Signed Coaches Code of Conduct required) - All volunteer coaches are required to be fingerprinted to conduct background checks and
complete three (3) mandatory trainings prior to the first practice. -
Referees: The referees are in charge of the game and their decisions are FINAL; right or
wrong. - Please cooperate with the Youth Sports Staff in creating and maintaining an environment
in which each and every participant may have fun, learn the game, and be a good sport. - We encourage parents and coaches to focus on the children and not on the referees.
- Coaches agree to support and influence good sportsmanship, and high moral standards and
are responsible for the conduct of their players and spectators. This includes but is not limited to, unsportsmanlike disagreements with officials or in subordinate acts against
supervisory staff. -
The YMCA Staff reserves the right and WILL send home anyone (this includes

- Encourage players to always play according to the rules.
- HAVE FUN! Make it enjoyable for you and your child.

being challenged, then they may ask the gym supervisor to have that spectator removed. - Coaches can only travel within the assigned team bench areas. Coaches should not be moving over the court. For 6 and under division: Only 1 aid per team is allowed on the actual court to help position the children on the court.
