Where to Find our Policy on our Website
Our policy is on our Swim Lesson page at the bottom in the FAQ section: Swimming Lessons San Jose: Private & Group Classes (ymcasv.org)
Transfer Policy
You may transfer to another program or session up to the start date. Once the program begins no transfers will be made.
"Old" Cancellation Policy that is still in effect for swim lessons registered for March and April 2025
- Cancellations made 14 days or more before the program start date will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations made within the 14-day period will receive YMCA credit.
- Once the program begins, no refunds or credits will be issued. This means the day of the first lesson no matter what time the request is made. Special consideration will be given for medical circumstances supported by a doctor’s note.
- No cancellation fees.
"New" Cancellation Policy starting during the April 1st Swim Registration
- Cancellations made 14 days or more before the program start date will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations made within the 14-day period will receive a refund, less the cancellation fee of $20.
- Once the program begins, no refunds will be issued unless a doctors note is provided.
Extenuating Circumstances: Death in the family & Immediate emergency (ex: loss of family home or transportation). These would be shared circumstances in which all leadership would extend the refund. If the request comes to the Solutions Team first, they will award the refund and alert the appropriate operational leaders.
- Please note: For swim lessons in particular this policy does not go into effect until the April 1st Swim Registration release for May & June lessons. This is because this policy change was put into effect after the Table Files for March & April swim lessons were complete. If you question if it is the "new" policy versus the "old" policy you can make like you are canceling the swim lesson in Personify and if a $20 cancellation fee appears than it's the "new" policy for that order. If no $20 cancellation policy appears than use the "old" cancellation policy.
